Set in 36 acres of beautiful woodland and water meadows this exciting fishery has developed into one of Hampshires premiere fisheries and comprises a series of four spring fed lakes and waterways in addition to 1666 yards fishing on the Blackwater, a tributary of the River Test. The fishery offers coarse fishing at its very best. John Hardeley, the owner of Whinwhistle, is committed to its development and has many exciting ideas for the future.

Our three main lakes are set in a natural setting. There is good bank vegetation and islands all providing cover for wild life and interesting features to fish to.  We also have a narrow Canal  and a stretch of the river Blackwater. The lakes are stocked with a variety of species. Roach and Rudd to 2lb, Tench and Bream to 6lb, Carp to 19lb. Also Perch, Gudgeon and Dace. Our carp stock includes Common, Mirror, Crucian, Ghost and Grass. From the river it is possible to catch Chub, Dace, Roach and Grayling.

Our current record bag is 94lb 2oz of Carp all taken on Hair rigged pellet. This beat the previous record of 70lb of Tench also caught on pellet. You are welcome to fish with ledger, float or pole. All will produce a good bag of fish. No method fishing.

2005 brings with it the new addition to Woodington of a certified Caravan Club caravanning site overlooking Keepers Lake. It has hard standing all through and grass for awnings. Breakfasts are also available on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
